What to Expect
From the moment you arrive, our goal is to make the visit feel predictable. We’ll guide you step by step, answer questions in plain language, and keep the pace comfortable.
You can expect:
- A warm welcome and smooth check-in
- A clear review of your needs and goals
- Modern diagnostics to build an accurate baseline
- A straightforward conversation about next steps
- Time to ask questions without feeling rushed

What to Bring to Your First Visit
To help your appointment run smoothly, please bring:
- Your photo ID
- Your dental insurance card, if you have one
- A list of medications (or a photo of the list)
- Any recent dental records or X-rays you’d like to share (if available)
Tip: If you complete New Patient Forms ahead of time, check-in is often faster.

Your Time in the Chair
Your first appointment is about getting a clear picture of your oral health today so we can plan care with intention and care.
Depending on your needs, your visit may include:
- Digital X-rays and imaging
- A comprehensive exam
- An oral cancer screening
- A gum health evaluation
- Photos or a digital scan when helpful for planning
We keep comfort front and center. If you need a pause, you can ask at any time. You stay in control.

Technology You Can Understand
Technology at Alachua Dental is used with intention. Digital imaging and AI-assisted X-ray review help support accuracy and consistency, while also giving you a clear view of what we’re seeing.
When you can see the information for yourself, conversations about care feel more grounded and easier to follow. Questions are encouraged, and explanations stay straightforward, so you can make decisions with confidence instead of guesswork.

Treatment Planning
After your exam, we’ll review everything with you and explain your options in a way that makes sense. Treatment is never automatic. You’ll get thoughtful recommendations based on long-term health, along with practical choices that fit your timeline and budget.
We’ll cover:
- What treatment involves and what it will feel like
- How many visits are typically needed
- What can be handled now vs. phased over time
- How insurance may apply and what your estimated portion could be
- Financing options if you prefer monthly payments

Check-out and Follow-up
Before you leave, we’ll help you take the next step without confusion. That may include scheduling your next visit, reviewing home-care instructions, and answering any last questions.
At check-out, we can help with:
- Scheduling your next appointment (including family scheduling options)
- Reviewing estimates and payment options
- Submitting insurance claims, when applicable
- Planning follow-ups if additional care is recommended
If questions come up after your visit, call us. We’re happy to help.
